Not allowed name
Neither my husband nor I can figure out why "Collector" is not allowed in character creation. Can anyone shed light on why that is a bad word?

if the whole name is Collector, then your mistake is that you have to have at least two(2) words.

I think they might have ruled out names containing words like Collector, Merchant, Storage, Weapons and so on. Most games don't want you to copy into your name things that are fundamental to the game world.

If you have "Collector" and a last name afterwards, it might be because of the Collector's located in towns/outpost/field. That could be my only guess, even though some collector's don't use "Collector" as their first name. Best of luck!

lol yah, but it is with any game you just can't use key words that they use in the world, such as merch, collector, and others

Several of my old Guild mates have storage toons that have the word storage in it. the difference is what they hold (upgrades items and so forth). The name "Collector" is allowed just need to use one that tells you what is in it, unless the name is already taken.

I have two mules, both named "Storage Boy [Insert Japanese name here]" and coloured their outfits so I can easily choose which one is my Weapons and Upgrades, and which is my collectables

I've long figured out alternate names for my mules, that isnt a problem. :-) Its sheer curiosity of why that word isnt allowed. It bothers me that I cant figure out why. |

Just want to back up the OP here, after extensively trying to find name combinations I can safely conclude that "Collector" is not permitted by GW in a character name. However, the name "C O L L E C T O R" is currently in use by another player.
My guess is that Storage isn't an NPC title, Storage Agent is, so the name is permitted. Weapons, while an NPC title, is an otherwise VERY common word and thusly permitted. Collector, however, IS the name of an NPC title, and while fairly common, is disallowed. My only guess is it has to do with the whole key feature of the game thing. |
